Tuplins Creek has a sound history of community watershed involvement. For several years, there was a local watershed group, spearheaded by Lee Sutherland. Much of the creek was cleaned of debris and many trees were planted during this period.
In 2010, the Field Crew cleaned the stream from the corner by Rt. 6 and the Thompson Point Rd. to where it passes under Rt. 6 flowing north. Trees were planted and a few brush mats were constructed near the Thompson Point Rd corner. This system is in relatively good shape from the years of work done by the former Margate River watershed group.
Tuplin Creek is participating in the Nitrates and Watershed Nutrient Planning pilot project on the Southwest River. For more information on this project, click here.
