The Campbells Pond system starts in the hills between the Irishtown and the Long River Roads. It flows under the Long River Road and continues between farmland and woodland, and drains into Campbells Pond and the Lake of Shining Waters before entering the Gulf of St. Lawrence. A second smaller system runs parallel to French River and passes through Simms Pond before entering the Southwest River at the mouth of the harbour.

In 2010, the KNWSA summer crew did some wetland restoration near Rt. 20, thinning alders and planting a variety of shrubs and trees. There is also a patch of Cow Parsnip along here, and our crew removed the flowers from the plants in order to reduce spreading. A survey of the pond on each side of Rt. 20 was done to record pond depth.
These are pictures from the area.... as pictures are collected for the watershed, we will update the photo gallery.
